Overview
This thesis-based Master of Arts trains students to analyze archaeological material such as architectural remains, artifacts, and ecofacts through original research. Candidates carry out an independent research project under faculty supervision, drawing on the department's eight specialized research laboratories and international collaborative networks across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. The programme combines fieldwork with laboratory analysis and culminates in a written thesis. It totals 48 credits and is designed to be completed in about two years of full-time study, with flexible pacing available for part-time students. Graduates are prepared for doctoral study or professional roles in heritage management, cultural resource management, and archaeological research institutions.
