This Diplome d'etudes superieures specialisees (DESS) in Clinical Kinesiology at Universite Laval is a 30-credit graduate diploma completed in about one year of full-time study; the program is offered full-time only. It focuses on cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary health, training clinical kinesiologists to design and deliver individualized physical-activity interventions for both symptomatic and asymptomatic at-risk populations in interdisciplinary settings. The diploma prepares graduates for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Exercise Specialist certification examination; Universite Laval states it is the only Canadian university program officially approved by the ACSM for the Clinical Exercise Physiologist pathway. Enrollment is limited to 12 places, and admission is offered for the Fall term only.
