Overview

The Certificate in Support for Secondary Teaching at Universite TELUQ is a 30-credit, first-cycle university certificate delivered entirely online. The program helps substitute and support staff in secondary schools develop pedagogical knowledge and intervention strategies for working with students aged 12 to 17. The 30-credit curriculum includes 18 required credits and 12 elective credits, with electives chosen from French, mathematics, science and technology, or other education-related courses. It is intended for individuals who work or want to work as substitute or support personnel in secondary classrooms without a full teaching credential. The program does not lead to the teaching diploma (brevet d'enseignement) issued by Quebec's Ministry of Education. Admission is accepted only for the Fall and Winter terms. Courses are self-paced and delivered entirely online, without fixed class schedules. The certificate can be taken alone or combined with other TELUQ certificates toward a bachelor's degree.
