Overview

This master's program in information technology, offered online by Université TÉLUQ under a professional profile, leads to a Master of Science and centers on a supervised research project connected to the student's own professional interests. The curriculum builds technical knowledge of information systems, their architecture and components, alongside the social, cultural, economic, and organizational effects of implementing IT within organizations, and covers strategies for IT management and critical evaluation of technology outcomes. Students identify a supervising professor whose expertise matches their intended research focus before beginning the project component. Delivery is fully online, without a fixed campus requirement. The program suits IT professionals who want to deepen technical and strategic expertise while continuing to work, as well as management-oriented students pursuing a specialization in IT governance. It is aimed at those who prefer an applied, project-based master's over a purely coursework degree, using their own workplace or professional context as the basis for the required research.

Requirements

Minimum GPA: 3.00 / 4.33
Admission Requirements: Admission follows four alternative pathways. The main route requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, administration, management or a related field with a cumulative average of at least 3.0 on a 4.3 scale; a bachelor's in another field is accepted at the same average with sufficient demonstrated knowledge or experience. Applicants averaging 2.5–2.9 may qualify by completing 15 additional graduate credits at 3.2 or above, and those with at least 30 university credits at 3.0 may qualify through solid professional, management or executive IT experience. Before admission, applicants must secure a research supervisor and agree on a project direction. Written French must be mastered, attested by the Université TÉLUQ written French test or a recognized equivalent, and the programme requires the ability to read scientific articles in English, with no formal English score specified. The admissions committee may impose preparatory courses (e.g. ADM, INF, MQT or SCI courses) as a condition of admission.

Application Details

Application Deadline: TELUQ accepts most applications at any time, but admission tied to a specific trimester follows published windows: Fall 2026 runs 16 February to 30 October 2026, Winter 2027 runs 3 August 2026 to 26 February 2027, and Summer 2027 runs 14 December 2026 to 18 June 2027. Domestic and international applicants share the same windows, except international applicants must submit at least 14 days before a period closes or their file is carried to the next trimester; a few programmes set their own deadlines, listed on each programme's page. Outside these term-specific windows TELUQ describes admission as continuous rather than governed by a single fixed closing date. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
