BA/BS in Physics

This programme leads to a Bachelor of Science in Physics at the University of Guelph. Coursework covers the basic building blocks of matter and the four fundamental forces of nature, including mechanics, electromagnetism and quantum physics, with hands-on laboratory work beginning in first year. Students may enter the major in any semester. The Honours major requires 20.00 credits, completed over the standard eight-semester, four-year full-time course of study used across University of Guelph Bachelor of Science programmes; a five-year co-op option adds five work terms and totals 22.50 credits. Related majors at Guelph include Chemical Physics, Theoretical Physics and Biological and Medical Physics. Graduates are prepared for careers and further study in research, engineering physics, data science, medical physics and other fields that draw on quantitative and analytical training in the physical sciences.
