This undergraduate program leads to an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of Ottawa, offered in English and French. The 42-unit discipline concentration examines major environmental issues such as anthropogenic climate change, urban pollution, and threats to human health, and teaches applied research tools and management principles used in areas including environmental impact assessment and resource management. Students develop skills for analyzing environmental data and policy questions across social, physical, and biological dimensions of environmental studies. Co-operative education is available when the program is taken as part of an honours degree, giving students the option to gain paid work experience alongside their studies. A French immersion stream is also available within the honours degree for students wishing to complete part of their coursework in French. The program prepares graduates for careers and further study in environmental assessment, policy, planning, and resource management.
