The Honours BSc in Environmental Geoscience is a 120-unit program at the University of Ottawa that combines environmental science and geology to study the interactions between geological, biological and hydrological systems. The curriculum progresses through compulsory courses at the 1000 through 4000 levels covering biology, chemistry, and Earth-focused subjects, supported by laboratory analysis and field trips, plus optional courses and 12 to 15 elective units drawn from other faculties. Students complete either an Honours research project (9 units) or an equivalent set of advanced discipline courses in the final year. The program trains students to examine environmental interactions between geology, biology and hydrology as environmental geoscientists. It is offered in English and French, with a French immersion stream and a co-operative education option, in which students alternate academic terms with paid work placements, both available.
