The Master of Science in Environmental Sustainability is an interdisciplinary program, also offered as a Collaborative Program in Environmental Sustainability, that prepares students to develop regulatory and policy solutions to complex, multi-dimensional environmental problems. Students build foundational knowledge drawn from science, law, economics and policy, alongside methodological skills for synthesizing and integrating knowledge across these disciplines. The program admits students from a range of relevant backgrounds, including environmental studies, geography, economics, environmental science, political science, international development, environmental engineering and law. Two completion routes are available: a research-paper option, normally completed in 12 months of full-time study, and a thesis option, normally completed in 24 months of full-time study; students have up to four years from initial enrolment to complete either route.
