Master of Engineering Mechanical Engineering

The Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering is delivered through the Ottawa-Carleton Joint Program, established in 1983 to combine the mechanical engineering research strengths of the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. The program covers thermal and fluid engineering, solid mechanics and design, materials and manufacturing, controls and robotics, biomedical engineering, and aeronautical and space engineering, and is offered both as a standard MEng and as an MEng with a co-op option. Students are expected to complete all degree requirements within two years of full-time study. The co-op option requires students to begin their studies in the fall term. Admission is based on academic performance in a prior mechanical engineering degree, supported by transcripts and any research reports or abstracts documenting research skills. The credential awarded is a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering.
