Chemical Physics is an Honours Bachelor of Science Specialist program offered by the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto St. George campus. The program aims to explain the structure and dynamics of molecular and bulk systems in terms of atomic and molecular interactions, covering topics such as reaction dynamics, spectroscopy, optical control of molecular processes, nanoscale science, and surface chemistry. It requires 14.0 credits, including 1.5 credits at the 400-level, and prepares students for research-oriented careers in the physical sciences in academia or industry. Admission requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with six Grade 12 4U/M courses, including English, Calculus & Vectors, and Chemistry, with Physics recommended, and a minimum final grade of 63% in each required course. The program is identified by OUAC code TPG and leads to an Honours Bachelor of Science degree.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with six subjects at the 4U/M level, including English (ENG4U/EAE4U). Required Grade 12 courses: Calculus & Vectors (MCV4U) and Chemistry (SCH4U), with Physics (SPH4U) recommended. The co-op component of Grade 12 courses is not used for admission. This is a limited-enrolment program requiring completion of 4.0 credits including introductory chemistry (CHM135H1/CHM136H1 or CHM151Y1); applicants with a final grade below 63% in any required course are not considered. Offered at the University of Toronto St. George campus (OUAC code TPG), leading to an Honours Bachelor of Science.
