Mathematics and Its Applications: Physical Science is an Honours Bachelor of Science Specialist program in the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto's St. George campus, for students who want to apply mathematics to another physical science discipline. It is an open-enrolment program: a student may enrol once they have completed 4.0 credits, typically after first-year courses in calculus, algebra, physics, and computer programming. The Specialist requires 12.5 to 13.0 credits across seven areas: calculus and proofs, algebra, ordinary differential equations, computer programming, probability and statistics, foundational physics (PHY151H1, PHY152H1), and astronomy (AST221H1), plus 0.5 credit addressing ethics and social responsibility and 4.5 further credits of advanced physics, mathematics, and specialized topics. Students may complete the program through the optional Arts & Science Internship Program (ASIP) co-op stream. Admission from Ontario secondary school requires an OSSD with six Grade 12 4U/M courses, including English, Calculus & Vectors, and Physics.
