Environmental Physics is offered at the University of Toronto Scarborough campus, leading to an Honours Bachelor of Science as a Specialist program under the Physical & Environmental Sciences admissions category. Students examine the Earth and its atmosphere, studying environmental problems such as global warming, ozone depletion, energy conservation, and noise pollution, and develop theoretical and empirical scientific skills through extensive hands-on laboratory and field study in smaller-than-average classes with close faculty interaction. Full-time completion takes 4 years, with an optional co-op stream that adds 2 or 3 full semesters (8 or 12 months) of paid, relevant work experience without extending the overall program length. Graduates pursue careers such as environmental geoscientist, environmental consultant, hydrologist, and data scientist, or further study in geophysics, geology, or environmental science. Admission requires Grade 12 English (minimum 70%), Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, and Physics. The main intake for this program is in the Fall term.
