Environment and Health is a Major program within the Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Arts & Science, a collaboration between the School of the Environment and the Human Biology Program. It responds to the impact of air pollution, water contamination and climate change on human health, combining fundamental biological sciences with a broad understanding of the environmental determinants of health. The 8.0-credit program begins with first-year Biology and Chemistry, continues through required and elective coursework spanning environmental science and human biology, and concludes with a Year 4 capstone course, the Environment & Health Capstone. Students may add an Arts & Science Internship Program (ASIP) work-integrated learning stream. Enrolment is open: a student who has completed 4.0 credits may enrol. The subject is also offered as a Specialist. The Major forms part of a four-year Honours Bachelor of Science degree, delivered at the St. George campus.
