Environmental Studies is offered at the University of Toronto Scarborough and St. George campuses, leading to an Honours Bachelor of Arts. At Scarborough, the Major (8.5 credits) allows students to develop an understanding of environmental issues from the perspectives of the physical, life, and social sciences, organizing coursework into Foundation & Skills courses covering socioeconomic and environmental-science fundamentals and Capstone & Applications courses that integrate cross-disciplinary problem-solving. At St. George, the Major (7.0 credits, also offered as a Minor) covers environmental policy, law and society, environmental thought and ethics, and environmental science, built around core courses ENV221H1, ENV222H1, ENV223H1, ENV338H1, and ENV200H1 plus a capstone or advanced course. Both campuses' programs are open-enrolment: a student who has completed 4.0 credits may enrol. Graduates are prepared for careers or further study addressing environmental problems across policy, science, and management fields.
