Physics and Astrophysics is an Honours Bachelor of Science program at the University of Toronto Scarborough, offered in both Major and Specialist options, integrating foundational physics coursework with astrophysics content and physics laboratory work. The Major requires 8.5 credits: first-year Physics I and II, Calculus I, Linear Algebra I, and Calculus II; and second-year-and-beyond courses covering the astrophysics of stars, galaxies, and the universe, multivariable calculus and differential equations, intermediate physics laboratory, 1.5 credits from specialized physics courses (quantum physics, electricity and magnetism, thermal physics, or mechanics), and 2.0 credits of advanced electives spanning astrophysics, mathematics, and physics. Course substitutions are not permitted without the advance approval of the Program Supervisor. Admission from Ontario secondary school requires an OSSD with six Grade 12 4U/M courses, including English, Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vectors, and Physics.
