Overview
The Master of Arts (MA) in Anthropology is offered across all five fields of the discipline: Archaeology, Evolutionary Anthropology, Linguistic and Semiotic Anthropology, Medical Anthropology, and Sociocultural Anthropology. The degree is available full-time or part-time; the full-time option normally runs a 12-month period from September to September, with a completion time limit of three years full-time or six years part-time. Instruction is delivered in person. A supervisor is assigned by the graduate unit before admission. Admission requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum average of B+ or equivalent in the final year, two letters of reference, and a statement of interest of no more than 1,000 words; no standardized admission test is required or recommended. The Department of Anthropology is not currently accepting international applicants to its master's programs. The credential awarded is a Master of Arts (MA).
