Biology is offered as an Honours Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto's St. George, Mississauga, and Scarborough campuses, with the St. George Specialist and Major programs administered through the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. Students build a foundation in the core areas of cell and molecular biology, ecology and biodiversity, evolutionary biology, physiology, and genetics, alongside calculus, chemistry, and statistics (Specialist) or chemistry (Major). The St. George Major requires 8.0 credits, including at least 1.5 credits at the 300-level or higher and 0.5 credit at the 400-level, while the Specialist requires 12.0 credits with at least 1.0 credit at the 400-level; both are open to students who have completed 4.0 credits, with options to concentrate in plant/microbial biology or animal biology through designated course selections. The program prepares graduates for further study or careers in the biological sciences, health professions, and environmental fields.
