Biodiversity and Conservation Biology is a Major program administered by the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology in the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto St. George campus, leading to an Honours Bachelor of Science. The program equips students to respond to the conservation of biological diversity, combining foundations in ecology, evolutionary biology, biodiversity and conservation biology, environmental biology, mathematics, and statistics in the first two years with upper-year courses that build in-depth knowledge of the diversity of living organisms and advanced study in ecology, evolution, and conservation. The 8.0-credit Major, open to students who have completed 4.0 credits, requires at least 2.0 credits at the 300-level or higher, including 0.5 credit at the 400-level. The program prepares graduates for further study or careers in conservation biology, environmental management, and ecological research.
