Biomedical Toxicology is offered as a Major (HBSc, ASMAJ2573) at the University of Toronto St. George campus through the Faculty of Arts & Science. The program examines the harmful effects of chemicals on human health and behaviour, covering pharmaceutical preparations, herbal products, natural toxins, and environmental contaminants, taught through lectures, tutorials, and class discussions and debates in basic and clinical toxicology. It is a limited-enrolment program: after 4.0 credits, applicants need a final grade of at least 65% in each of BIO120H1, BIO130H1, and CHM135H1/CHM136H1 or CHM151Y1, with a combined average of at least 70% in these courses to be considered, though the typical admitted average runs closer to the mid 80s. Graduates pursue scientific research, forensic science, nutrition and food sciences, government and consulting roles, pharmaceutical and chemical industry positions, or further study in medicine, dentistry, or pharmacy.
