Child Psychology at the University of Windsor is a three-year General Bachelor of Arts within the Department of Psychology, focusing on child and adolescent development. Students begin with an introductory psychology course reserved for majors, working in small groups with upper-year mentors, before moving into courses such as Child Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, Child Psychopathology and Developmental Disabilities. The program combines behavioural and social approaches to psychology with opportunities for undergraduate research and community placements that connect classroom learning to work with children and adolescents. As a General program it can be combined with another subject as a double major or paired with further study. Graduates are prepared for further study in education- and social-services-related diploma and certificate programs, for a Bachelor of Education degree, or for direct employment in fields involving work with children and adolescents, including child life services and community agencies.
