Disability Studies and Psychology is a four-year Honours Bachelor of Arts program at the University of Windsor that combines training in both disciplines. Students study psychological theory and research methods alongside disability studies' focus on accessibility, social justice and the lived experience of disability, developing an interdisciplinary understanding of how psychological and social factors intersect with disability. The program includes hands-on learning through community volunteer experience and placements, connecting academic study to applied, community-based practice. First-year students have access to an exclusive introductory course for psychology majors, supported by mentorship from upper-year students. Graduates are prepared for further study or careers in psychology-related fields, social services, disability advocacy, policy and other helping professions that draw on both psychological and disability-studies perspectives.
