Environmental Science, BSc is a four-year Honours program at the University of Windsor that takes an applied, systems-based approach to studying the atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere and biosphere. The program combines lecture, laboratory and field-based learning, giving students access to hands-on research opportunities, including the study of the structure, function and health of the Great Lakes as a globally significant freshwater resource. Coursework draws on chemistry, biology, physics and mathematics to examine environmental processes and their human impacts, with an emphasis on generating and interpreting original field and laboratory data rather than studying environmental issues only through policy or theory. Graduates are prepared for roles in environmental monitoring, consulting, laboratory science, conservation and further graduate study in the environmental or life sciences.
