Overview
The Information Technology and Applied Systems (ITAS) - Systems Administration and Networking Diploma prepares you for careers in the design, installation, operation, and administration of network and Internet-based information systems. You'll gain a foundation in Information Technology hardware, Windows and Linux client and server operating systems, wired and wireless networking and project management, cybersecurity, and more.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission follows VIU's General Admission Requirements for Academic Programs. Applicants submit a letter of application of 500-1,000 words explaining their interest in the program; an interview is granted only once the other requirements are met. Recommended (not mandatory) preparation includes one of Principles of Mathematics 12, Applications of Mathematics 12, or Foundations of Mathematics 12, two years of prior experience installing and maintaining computer operating systems, and high-school Information and Communications Technology 11 and 12. Mature students without a Grade 12 credential are considered provided they complete the prerequisites or equivalents. The program is open to full-time students only and has one intake each Fall.
