The Liberal Arts program is a two-year pre-university Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) that prepares students for university-level study in the humanities and social sciences. Students study history, philosophy, religion, literature, and the principles of mathematics and the natural sciences, exploring the themes and questions that connect these disciplines. Small class sizes and a seminar-style format are used to develop analytical reasoning and to strengthen reading, writing, and oral communication skills. Students choose four concentration courses to tailor their studies, and take part in co-curricular activities such as visits to museums and theatres in Montreal. The program prepares graduates for further study in fields including law, political science, communications, English, education, psychology, and sociology. Intake is normally in the Autumn term, with Winter admission considered on an exceptional basis.
