Overview
Science and Music (200.11) is a three-year Double DCS pre-university program at Vanier College that lets students earn two separate diplomas, one in Science and one in Music, in an integrated course of study. The program page describes it as drawing on the strengths of Vanier's existing Pure and Applied Science and Music programs, so students take physics, chemistry, biology, calculus, and algebra alongside instrumental or vocal training on their principal instrument. Because it merges two full disciplinary tracks, the course load is denser than either single program on its own. Admission requires strong secondary-level results in mathematics, physics, and chemistry as well as demonstrated musical proficiency, verified through an audition and a theory and ear-training examination. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Science and Music applicants need Mathematics TS/SN 506, Physics 504 and Chemistry 504 (or their cégep equivalents), on top of Vanier's college-wide Quebec secondary-school baseline (DES/DVS with Secondary 5 language courses and Secondary 4 mathematics, science and history). Music 502 (or cégep-equivalent 551-004-VA) or equivalent recognized music training is recommended but not mandatory. All applicants must complete an audition on their principal instrument or voice plus an entrance exam in music theory and ear training, detailed on Vanier's music-auditions page. No IELTS/TOEFL-style English score applies: Vanier's admissions pages confirm English-proficiency testing is no longer required, while a CEFR B2 French test (TCF, DELF, DALF or TEF) is required only of out-of-province/international applicants who did not complete Quebec secondary schooling.

For Winter 2027, applications opened 15 September 2026, Round 1 closes 1 November 2026 and Round 2 closes 25 November 2026, with unfilled seats carried forward. SRAM has not yet posted Fall 2027 domestic dates. Internationally, SRAM's Fall 2027 window runs 15 March 2026 to 14 March 2027; its next window (Winter 2028) runs 1 June 2026 to 31 May 2027. Admission is rolling by round, not a single fixed date. Vanier's own international-applicants page confirms international students use the same SRAM system as domestic ones, bound by the same round deadlines.
