The Master of Environment and Sustainability (MES) at Western University is an interdisciplinary, course-based graduate program that includes a co-operative work placement term. The program is completed in one full year of study across three terms, with students beginning in September and finishing the following August. Coursework addresses environmental and sustainability issues from an interdisciplinary perspective, combining academic study with applied work experience gained through the co-op placement. Admission is open to applicants with a four-year undergraduate degree in any discipline, including a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Engineering, from a recognized university or college. Applicants must have a combined third- and fourth-year entrance average of at least 78%. Applicants whose first language is not English must meet Western's English proficiency requirements, such as an IELTS Academic score of 7.0 overall with no band below 6.5.
