Overview
The Master of Science in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is a research-based graduate program whose faculty study the mechanisms of cell and tissue injury, the etiology, pathogenesis and behaviour of disease, the identification of novel biomarkers, potential treatment targets for various diseases, and molecular imaging. The thesis-based degree can be completed in six terms of full-time study or twelve terms part-time. Applicants require a four-year undergraduate degree in the sciences, with courses in anatomy, biochemistry, histology and/or molecular biology strongly recommended in preparation, and a minimum academic average of 80% over the final two years of undergraduate study, required of both domestic and international applicants. Applicants holding a graduate degree in a medical or public health field, or a professional degree in dentistry, medicine or another health profession, may also apply. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission, as the program is competitive.
