Physiology at Western University is an undergraduate Honours Specialization module within the Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMSc) program, jointly administered by the Faculty of Science and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. The module combines physiology with pharmacology coursework and offers a neuroscience-focused option. Students first complete BMSc first- and second-year requirements, including biology, chemistry, calculus, mathematics and physics or computer science courses, before entering the module in year three. Second-year prerequisites include biochemistry, two physiology-related biology courses, a further chemistry course, and a course in biostatistics (Biology 2244A/B or Statistical Sciences 2244A/B). Teaching is based in Western's Faculty of Science and Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry on the main campus in London, Ontario. The program suits students aiming for careers or further study in physiology, pharmacology, medicine or related health sciences, building a strong grounding in body-systems function before upper-year specialization.
