This program examines the causes of crime, the role of policing, and how communities respond to justice issues, combining current criminology research with the study of crime trends, prevention strategies, and the social factors that shape the justice system. It leads to a Bachelor of Arts and develops critical thinking, research, and analytical skills for careers in policing, criminal justice, public service, and community organizations. The program is delivered fully online, combining live virtual classes held at set times with asynchronous coursework students complete on their own schedule, and is designed to accommodate part-time study; completion time varies with course load and any transfer credit. Intakes are offered in September, January, and May. Admission for Ontario secondary school applicants is based on an average in the mid-70s, including Grade 12 English at a minimum of 60%; international applicants are assessed on equivalent senior secondary coursework and standing.
