The Bachelor of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University offers a flexible curriculum combining individual studio lessons, ensemble participation, keyboard and vocal foundations, ear training and music theory with the option to select from ten specializations: Composition, Music Education, Performance, Conducting, Musicology, Music Theory, Community Music, Pedagogy and Wellness, Afrodiasporic Music, and Small Group Performance. Students receive one-on-one instruction from faculty in their principal instrument or voice alongside coursework covering the theoretical, historical and practical foundations of music. The program encourages collaboration and cross-training across musical styles and traditions while allowing students to focus on the specialization most relevant to their interests and career goals. It is a four-year Honours program delivered on campus at Laurier's Waterloo campus, with a single intake each September. Graduates are prepared for careers in performance, composition, music education, community music and related fields, as well as further study at the graduate level, including Laurier's own Bachelor of Music Therapy pathway for eligible students after their second year.
