The Bachelor of Social Work is an accredited, direct-entry undergraduate program focused on assessing and supporting individuals, families, and communities. Students develop skills to address social issues including racism, poverty, and violence, while advocating for social justice, and combine theoretical frameworks with practical experience through two field placements totalling 720 hours. Coursework covers social welfare policy, human behaviour, and anti-oppressive practice alongside supervised fieldwork in community and institutional settings, building professional competencies expected of a regulated social work practitioner. The program is delivered primarily in person through face-to-face instruction on campus, with a single Fall intake each year. The Honours program normally takes four years of full-time study to complete and leads to a Bachelor of Social Work degree, preparing graduates for professional social work practice and registration.
