Health & Society is a Bachelor of Arts (BA) exploring how health and illness are shaped by social, cultural, political and economic factors. Students examine how health systems function, how health policy is created, and how different communities experience health and healing, combining perspectives from sociology, policy studies and the health sciences with case studies of health systems in Canada and internationally. Both full-time and part-time study are available. The program suits students interested in health policy, community health or health systems work, preparing graduates for careers or further study in health administration, public health, policy analysis and community health services. Entry is available in the Fall, Winter and Summer terms for both first-year and upper-year students, with intake open across all three terms of the academic year.
