Overview

Humanities at York University is offered as a Bachelor of Arts or International Bachelor of Arts through the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. The programme expands students' understanding of world cultures and the diversity of human experience, with particular attention to how peoples from different times and places have expressed cultural values, practices and ideas. Students can focus their studies in one of four streams or explore a wide range of subjects based on their own interests, developing critical thinking skills for analyzing diverse value systems. The programme is offered full-time or part-time, with entry available in the fall, winter and summer terms for both first-year and upper-year students. Ontario applicants need an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with ENG4U and five additional 4U or M courses; equivalent requirements apply for other credentials.

Admission Requirements: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with ENG4U and five additional 4U or M courses; GCE applicants need a minimum average of C. Equivalent secondary requirements apply for other Canadian provinces and for International Baccalaureate applicants.
