The Visual Arts – Studio program offers hands-on training across a range of media, including painting, sculpture, photography, and print media. Students work in York's arts facilities, which include the country's largest university sculpture studio, Canada's first Digital Sculpture Laboratory, and dedicated photography and printmaking studios. The program leads to a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and is delivered on campus at the Keele Campus, with full-time and part-time study options. Students may begin in the Fall, Winter, or Summer term as either first-year or upper-year transfer students. Admission includes a supplementary evaluation of the applicant's creative work in addition to academic requirements, which vary for Canadian and international curricula. The program prepares students for careers in studio art practice, as well as further study in fine arts or related creative fields.
