Overview

The Public Administration & Law Certificate adds knowledge of public administration and law to a student's expertise in another area, combining certificate study with an undergraduate degree. Applicants to the stand-alone certificate must normally have completed an undergraduate degree in any discipline with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 5.00; current York students may enter after completing at least 24 credits with the same minimum average. The certificate is not open to students in the Bachelor of Public Administration Honours, Specialized Honours, or Honours Minor programs. It requires at least 12 credits of required disciplinary certificate courses. The certificate is offered by the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and admits students in the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms. On completion it is recorded on the transcript, documenting focused study of public administration and law alongside the student's primary qualification.

Minimum GPA: 5.00 / 9.0
Admission Requirements: Admission to the stand-alone certificate program requires students to have normally completed an undergraduate degree in any discipline with a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.00. Current York students should have completed at least 24 credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 5.00. The certificate is not open to students in the Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) - Honours, Specialized Honours, and Honours Minor.
