The PhD in Human Resource Management is offered by York University's School of Human Resource Management in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. The program trains scholars in human resource management research, combining a diverse methodological approach with training in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Students develop expertise across areas such as organizational change and development, labour relations, strategic compensation and international human resource management, and receive pedagogical training to prepare them for academic careers. Admission requires a solid foundation in human resource management, normally acquired through coursework leading to the CHRP designation and relevant HR experience, along with a minimum B+ average. Three confidential letters of recommendation, a statement of research interests and an interview are required as part of the application. The program admits students for Fall entry only.
