Overview
This program leads to a Master of Management in Artificial Intelligence (MMAI) at the Schulich School of Business, delivered full-time and in person over 12 months with a single annual intake in May, structured across three 12-week terms. The curriculum combines technical and business content, covering AI fundamentals and business applications, natural language processing, neural networks and deep learning, predictive modelling and algorithms, and database and data science systems, alongside case analysis, project management, visual analytics and technology ethics. Students complete an Artificial Intelligence Consulting Project as a two-term capstone, working in teams to address real problems for client organizations. The program is recognized by the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence and offers eligible students access to Vector Institute scholarships. Applicants typically hold an undergraduate degree in a field such as mathematics, computer science, business, economics, engineering or science with at least a B+ average; prior work experience is recommended but not required, making the program suited to those seeking management roles in applying AI within organizations.

Admission Requirements: Applicants need an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution with a minimum B+ average over the last two full years, in Mathematics, Business, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering or Science; applicants from other disciplines must complete at least one university course in two of Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, or Business. Prior work experience or internships are recommended but not required, and the programme explicitly does not require GMAT or GRE scores. Unless exempt (two or more years of full-time study at an accredited English-instruction university), applicants must meet Schulich's graduate English proficiency minimums: IELTS Academic 7.0 overall with no band below 6.5, or TOEFL iBT 100 with no section below 23 (before 21 January 2026; revised scoring of 5.0 overall, 4.5 minimum per section applies after that date). The application includes two written essays, one timed written essay, two video essays, a resume, two references and unofficial transcripts; select applicants may be invited to a 30-minute virtual admissions interview, which does not guarantee an offer.

Winter 2027 entry closes November 18, 2026 for all applicant types and Summer 2027 entry closes April 1, 2027. York continues to accept and assess applications after these dates until each program fills. International applicants share the same March 24, 2027 Fall guaranteed-consideration date as out-of-province and transfer applicants; York publishes no separate, earlier international deadline. Exceptions include Direct Entry Nursing (February 1, 2027) and Schulich's BBA, which closes firmly on January 15, 2027 with a February 1, 2027 supplementary application. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
