The graduate program in Social & Political Thought (SPT) offers interdisciplinary study of social and political ideas, theories, and movements at the MA and PhD levels. Coursework is organized around three flexible streams: the history of social and political thought; Black studies and theories of race and racism; and economy, consciousness, aesthetics, and society. Both full-time and part-time study are available at each degree level. Admission to the MA requires an undergraduate degree with a minimum B+ average; admission to the PhD requires a master's degree, also with a minimum B+ average.
