Applied Behaviour Analysis is a two-year master's programme of 120 ECTS credits in the Department of Psychology, taught in English. Students study how basic principles of learning and behaviour can be applied to ease problems faced by individuals and by society, and they practise using evidence-based methods to analyse behaviour and plan the teaching of new skills with the client's values and interests in mind.
Courses use lectures, in-class participation, individual and group assignments and discussion. Across three semesters part of the work is carried out in the field under the supervision of a practising behaviour analyst. Part-time study is available.
The programme sets out to pass on scientific knowledge about behavioural principles and their use in varied settings, with ethical practice, client autonomy, quality of life and welfare as guiding values. It keeps contact with professionals in the field and contributes to research published in peer-reviewed journals.
