BA/BS in Psychology

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology, which requires a minor, introduces students to the study of behaviour and mental processes. It gives a base for postgraduate work in counselling psychology or in fields like forensic, clinical, school, educational, sport, rehabilitation, organizational, engineering, quantitative and neuropsychological work. The degree does not train professional counsellors; those students are directed to the Counselling or Guidance Counselling programmes. Core study covers human learning, development across the lifespan, social and physiological psychology, personality theories, abnormal psychology, psychological testing, statistics, research methods, experimental and applied psychology, and a community psychology fieldwork placement. Students add programme electives such as forensic or organizational psychology and a minor from another field. Credit totals run from 133 to 139 depending on the minor chosen.
