BA/BS in Smart Building Engineering Systems

Subjects progress through mathematics, applied electrical engineering, construction materials, computer-aided design, and building structures into heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, water supply and drainage, renewable energy sources, and smart building management systems, with building information modelling and the digitisation of engineering networks running throughout. Forty-one credits of professional practice cover building engineering systems, water and HVAC technology, and smart systems management before a final practice and a twelve-credit thesis. Learning outcomes include applying artificial intelligence and digital design tools to optimise heating, ventilation, water supply, and automated building management systems, conducting research with experimental and laboratory equipment to solve structural and energy-related problems, and designing and digitalising building systems while weighing technical, economic, and environmental requirements. Graduates are also expected to plan and manage related projects, communicate about engineering work in Lithuanian and at least one foreign language, and take responsibility for the societal and environmental impact of their engineering decisions.
