BA/BS in Electrical and Automation Engineering

This programme prepares electrical engineers to work with renewable energy technologies and resolve automation, modernisation and energy-efficiency issues in electrical systems and technical devices. Core subjects cover physics, mechanics, mathematics, circuit theory, electronics, electrical materials, microprocessors, telecommunications and automatic control theory, alongside electric machinery, electrical installation and project management. Students choose one of three specialisation tracks: technological equipment and systems control, electrical networks and consumer equipment, or renewable energy, the last covering solar power plant installation, renewable energy sources, power electronics and energy control. Thirty-six credits of practice and a twelve-credit graduation paper follow the chosen specialisation. Teaching includes lectures, seminars, case studies, group projects and public defence of project work, with assessment built from tests, essays, practice reports and final projects. Graduates can install and service electrical and automation equipment, design and operate electrical grids and renewable energy systems, or supervise energy control within companies.
