BA/BS in Construction business management

This programme trains construction-business managers to plan, run and control construction-business processes, draw up cost estimates, and use current technology to judge how construction materials and goods perform. Coursework covers workplace safety, construction materials, business law, management basics, building technology and work organisation, estimating, building architecture, renovation, and building engineering systems, with a specialisation in either real-estate management, taking in building evaluation, market research and property trading, or managing construction materials, taking in engineering systems, logistics and finishing materials. Learning outcomes include weighing the economic, political, legal, technical, social and cultural forces that bear on construction businesses, setting up building structures and engineering systems based on a condition assessment, picking suitable materials for building or renovation while meeting regulatory requirements, pricing real estate and arranging its sale, and acting as construction manager over a building project. The course runs three internships, calculates estimates on specialised software, offers distance learning, and practises partly through a simulated trading company that mirrors real business.
