Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS)

This coursework master's degree is led mainly by the computing and data science college at NTU, with faculty from several other schools contributing so that the programme stays interdisciplinary. Its aim is to give graduate students solid training in collecting, managing, analysing, explaining and visualising data. A distinctive feature is the combination of computing-driven data science with ideas from the social sciences. Core courses and projects push students to weigh social, economic and behavioural factors when approaching a data problem, and a broad set of electives covers different data types and application areas together with psychology and economic theory. The curriculum also covers the wider data science ecosystem, including preparing messy input data before analysis. The programme can be studied full-time or part-time. A FlexiMasters pathway in data science fundamentals is run by NTU PACE, with fee co-funding from SkillsFuture Singapore for eligible Singaporeans and permanent residents.
