Diploma in Common ICT Programme

The Common ICT Programme lets students explore information and communications technology before choosing a diploma. Run by the School of Infocomm, it builds IT fundamentals through hands-on projects in the first year, including essential ICT skills useful in any technology career. Students choose a diploma after the second semester. The options include Enterprise Cloud Computing & Management, Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics and Applied AI & Analytics. From April 2026, students who passed O-Level Computing may be exempt from the Introductory Programming module, which frees 60 hours for other activities. The programme suits applicants who are interested in technology but want time to identify the area that suits them before committing to a diploma. Because the common route delays specialisation, it gives students the chance to try different parts of computing first.
