Diploma in Common Science Programme

The Common Science Programme is for students who like science but have not settled on a field. It is run by the School of Applied Science and gives a broad scientific foundation through shared first-year modules before students commit to a specific diploma. Students have up to a year to decide. After the first semester they may move directly into Pharmaceutical Science, Applied Chemistry, Biomedical Science or Biological Sciences. Those who remain undecided can enter the Biological Sciences cluster instead and choose among the Biological Sciences, Biomedical Science and Pharmaceutical Science diplomas after the second semester. Once placed in a diploma, students follow modules tied to that particular programme. The route suits applicants who want time to find their strengths and compare careers in science before specialising.
