AA/AS in Anthropology

Anthropology at Cabrillo College is offered through the Global and Human Studies area and examines who people are, where they come from and where they may be heading. The program encourages respect for cultural diversity while keeping sight of what humans share. The discipline blends five subfields, namely biological, cultural, archaeological, linguistic and applied anthropology, linking the natural sciences, social sciences and humanities through broad comparative study. Courses are taught in person at the Watsonville and Aptos campuses and also online. Students can use free anthropology tutoring and meet with academic counselors about degree requirements and transfer. Degree information, a proposed map of courses and current classes are linked from the page. Prospective students can speak with the department or a counselor to plan their coursework and confirm how credits transfer.
