Overview

Fresno City College offers this associate degree for transfer in anthropology. It follows the standard California community college model, in which a set group of major courses plus the transferable general education pattern lead toward upper-division standing. Students gain a broad view of human diversity through prehistoric, biological and cultural perspectives. Students are expected to earn a C or better in each major course, and the plan should be reviewed with a counselor because each receiving university has its own expectations. The degree is built for those planning an anthropology bachelor's degree at a CSU campus. Credits earned in a transfer degree are intended to count toward the major at the California State University system, so early planning with an advisor helps students avoid repeating courses and keeps the route to a bachelor's degree efficient.
