Program details

Overview

This program readies Cuyamaca College students to move on to a CSU campus and work toward a Computer Science B.S.. The classes build a base in programming method, hands-on coding and how computers are organized. Most computing careers expect a four-year degree, and a few expect graduate study. Possible paths include software and computer engineering, systems analysis, systems programming, mobile apps, artificial intelligence, robotics and simulation. Because computing now appears in nearly every field, graduates can look at a wide range of jobs. Transfer students also finish the statewide general education pattern that CSU admission requires. Planning ahead matters with a transfer degree. Students are advised to meet with a counselor early, lay out the major courses term by term, and confirm how each class will be treated by the university they hope to attend next. Those steps keep the path to transfer on schedule.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Associate Degree for Transfer: CSU-transferable units, minimum GPA of 2.0 in CSU-transferable coursework, grade of C or Pass in major courses, and Cal-GETC completion.
