BA/BS in International/Globalization Studies

Global studies is an interdisciplinary major that expands students' international awareness and prepares them to examine pressing world issues and contribute to solutions. It draws on global history, cultural studies, comparative politics and economics to explain how globalization shapes societies. The Bachelor of Arts requires thirty-six credits. Students take global perspectives, a choice between global ethics and global economics, comparative politics, and a capstone on global engagements, plus world language study and a specialization. An eighteen-credit minor is also available and lets students count globally oriented courses from other departments. The program is run by the history and global studies faculty. Scholarship opportunities, including a full-tuition competitive award and a fellowship that supports study abroad, are listed for students who declare the major or minor.
